Acupressure

This technique involves applying firm, targeted pressure to specific points on the body. Acupressure is rooted in ancient Chinese medicine and is used to promote healing and restore balance to the body. The points where pressure is applied are typically located along energy pathways known as meridians. The therapist will use their fingers, thumbs, palms, and sometimes specialized tools to relieve tension, improve circulation, and support the body’s natural self-healing processes.

Swedish

Swedish massage is a gentle, full-body massage that uses long, flowing strokes, kneading, circular movements, tapping, and light stretching to ease tight muscles and calm the nervous system. This technique designed to promote relaxation, improve circulation, and relieve muscle tension. Oil or lotion is typically used to reduce friction.  The soothing techniques help increase oxygen flow in the blood, flush out toxins, and leave the body feeling relaxed, refreshed, and rejuvenated.

Deep Tissue

This therapeutic technique focuses on realigning deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue to relieve chronic tension and pain. The therapist will use their fingers, knuckles, forearms, and elbows to apply slow, firm strokes and sustained pressure that target tight areas and muscle knots. This type of massage is especially beneficial for individuals experiencing persistent muscle pain, stiffness and sports-related injuries. Deep tissue work improves mobility, reduces inflammation, and promotes long-term muscle recovery.

Combination

A combination massage blends more than two techniques into the same session to address a client’s specific needs. A therapist may begin with gentle Swedish strokes to warm up the muscles, then incorporate deep tissue work to target areas of chronic tension, and even add elements like stretching, hot stones, or acupressure for enhanced relief. This flexible approach allows the session to be tailored for relaxation, pain management, improved mobility, or overall wellness.

Back Walking

Back walking, often called “ashiatsu”is an ancient massage technique where the therapist uses their feet instead of their hands to apply pressure. Back walking generally feels like a deep, gliding compression. The therapist may use different parts of the foot—the heel for deeper work or the arch for more contouring along muscles—to target large muscle groups such as the erector spinae, glutes, and hamstrings. The therapist is trained to avoid the spine and other vulnerable areas.

Couples

A couples massage is less about a special technique and more about a shared experience. Two people receive massages at the same time, in the same room, each with their own therapist on side-by-side massage table. The therapists work in parallel, often in a synchronized rhythm, which creates a calming, almost immersive atmosphere. There’s usually minimal talking during the massage, but you can still communicate with your therapist if you want adjustments. Often done for anniversaries and special occasions.
